Dear Year 5/6 parent/carer,

You are warmly invited to attend Risedale School's Year 6 Open Evening on Thursday, 25th September from 6pm-7:30pm. We have two Headteacher Welcome talks taking place in the Main School Hall at 6:10pm and 6:45pm.

Find out more about the Risedale Family by meeting our teachers, talking to our pupils as well as taking a look around the school and participating in fun activities taking place throughout the evening.

Our invitation extends to parents of Year 5 pupils as well as Year 6, so you can make plans for the future and hopefully MAKE RISEDALE YOUR FIRST CHOICE.

Our curriculum is continually expanding, enabling us to deliver a more diverse range of subjects and meet the individual needs of our pupils. This year alone, we have introduced Health & Social Care and Travel & Tourism into our curriculum.
We organise lots of educational and personal enrichment and reward visits, and have an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities.
Our school utilises advanced technologies to foster innovative teaching and learning methods. We have access to Virtual Reality headsets, Adobe Creative Cloud, Chromebooks, a media suite equipped with state-of-the-art green screen technology, a photography studio, computerised laser cutters, 3D printing facilities, and computer embroidery tools, to name but a few.

Key Admissions Dates for Parents (Secondary Schools)

12 September 2025 - Admissions round opens
31 October 2025 - Closing date for applications
22 November 2025 - Last date to make a change to an application or to submit a late application
2 March 2026 - National Offer Day

Prospective parents/carers must first complete an application to North Yorkshire Council and then, when your place has been confirmed, you will be sent a link from the Risedale Admin Team to complete our school's online Pupil Admission Form.
