Risedale’s Y11 Rugby Team take on Richmond in friendly match.
The Year 11 Risedale boys rugby team traded tackles and tries in a thrilling friendly against Richmond School and Sixth Form College on Tuesday 27th February.
The clash at Richmond RUFC served as a valuable opportunity for the Risedale players to showcase their skills for their GCSE PE assessments.
The first half was a tense affair, showcasing the athleticism of both teams. The contest remained fiercely competitive, with neither side able to gain a significant advantage. The halftime score reflected this, with Risedale trailing closely at 15-7.
While Richmond's experience ultimately proved decisive in the second half, allowing them to extend their lead and secure the victory, the Risedale boys never gave up and displayed commendable fighting spirit throughout the match.
"I'm incredibly proud of the boys' effort and determination," commented PE teacher Mr. Lawson. "They played their hearts out and gave an excellent performance."
Risedale's rugby focus now shifts to the upcoming Area 7's tournament. We wish all participants the best of luck!
