Year 7 pupils were treated to a fantastic musical performance delivered by talented Belgian musicians WÖR.
A big thank you to WÖR for visiting Risedale School and performing for our Year 7s on Friday 9th June as part of the community and education programme that the Swaledale Festival provides.
On their website, WÖR (pronounced ‘were’) describe themselves as, "...a band of five musicians whose curiosity, passion and talent has led to a niche goldmine of melodies in stunning contemporary arrangements. With their finely textured arrangements, WÖR injects new energy into 18th-century melodies from the Flanders region of Belgium. Their music shines an inventive spotlight, with a modern twist, on the melodies in these manuscripts."
Mrs Cox, Senior Teacher and Head of Music at Risedale School said,
"WÖR were incredible!! The pupils were really inspired by the different instruments they played and asked some really thoughtful questions. It was an absolute pleasure to host and be part of the Swaledale Festival - thank you!"
