Risedale's U15 girls smash stereotypes at inspiring football tournament and careers fair.
The U15 Girls Football team aced their final fixture on Wednesday 10th July, going beyond just competitive play. The tournament held at Richmond School offered a unique blend of football matches and a careers fair focused on the construction industry. This aimed to not only challenge them on the field but also introduce them to potential career paths, dismantle stereotypes, and score some freebies at the fair!
The girls impressed at the fair, asking insightful questions about construction careers. They then brought their enthusiasm onto the pitch, battling through 5 games against local teams. Their teamwork and resilience shone through, securing a win, a thrilling 3-3 draw, and showcasing their fighting spirit in the remaining matches. While they finished with 11 points, their true victory came in the form of the "Team of the Day" award, a testament to their enjoyment and positive attitude throughout the tournament.
Team Coach, Mr J Metcalfe said, “I am so proud of the girls and all the hard work they have put in this year so to end on a high was an incredible achievement! I am already excited to see what next year brings!”
