The Risedale U13 girls put up a brave fight in semi-final match.
The U13 Girls Football team played a thrilling semi-final match against Wensleydale on Thursday, 22nd February. Both teams displayed excellent skills, making for a close game. Risedale went into halftime trailing 2-1 but showed great determination to equalise early in the second half. Unfortunately, fatigue set in, and Wensleydale secured the win with a final score of 8-3.
Despite the loss, there were some outstanding performances with goals from Ellie-Mae Reid (8Lawson), Sophia Chapman (8Allen) and Renesmee Bascombe-Nakoma (7Laheney).
The team’s coach Mr J Metcalfe said, “I’m immensely proud of every player involved! And a big thank you must go to Reece Squire in Year 11 for refereeing the match!“
Looking ahead, the U13 Girls have more matches on the horizon. Anyone interested in joining the team is welcome to attend training every Wednesday after school!
