The Risedale U13 girls gave their all in an exciting and hard-fought semi-final encounter on Thursday 20th March.
The first day of spring ushered in the sunshine and high stakes as the Risedale U13 girls' football team faced Northallerton School & Sixth Form College in a highly anticipated semi-final clash. An electrifying start saw Louise Savery (8 Dean) swiftly put Risedale ahead with a 1-0 lead. Savery struck again before halftime, doubling Risedale's tally and increasing the team's hopes of reaching the final.
Despite a valiant and determined effort from every Risedale player on the pitch in the second half, Northallerton ultimately prevailed with a 6-2 victory and will progress to the final. We wish them well.
Team coach, Mr J Metcalfe, expressed immense pride in his team's performance. "As always, I am incredibly proud of the girls' unwavering commitment and sportsmanship throughout the match. They gave their absolute best, demonstrating resilience even in the face of a challenging result." He also extended heartfelt gratitude to Charlotte Watkins (10Vizor) for her commendable refereeing of the match.
