On Monday 6th November, Risedale School pupils were given the amazing opportunity to join the textile students of Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, Darlington, for a masterclass with Print Designer/ Consultant/ Lecturer Davinder Madaher.
They learnt from Davinder what it was like working in the fashion industry and his career as a print designer before spending the day experimenting with drawing and watercolour painting.
Teacher of Design & Technology at Risedale, Mrs Vizor, said,
"The Risedale pupils were exceptional, and I was immensely proud of their representation of our school. It was an extraordinary day that was thoroughly enjoyed by all."
Davinder Madaher is a print designer, consultant and lecturer with over 25 years of experience in both fashion and homeware. He has worked in New York and the UK with some of the world's biggest brands, including The Gap, Guess, Fatface, Joules, Next, Debenhams, Tesco, Littlewoods and Cotton Traders.
The masterclass provided Risedale pupils with an invaluable opportunity to learn from an industry expert and gain firsthand exposure to the world of fashion design. They were also encouraged to explore their creativity and develop their artistic skills.
Mrs Vizor expressed her gratitude to the Textiles Department at QE for hosting this enriching learning experience by commenting,
"I am confident that this masterclass will inspire many of our pupils to pursue their own creative aspirations in the future."
