On Sunday 2nd February, Eryn Williams and Laci took first place at the Cumberland Open Show. This achievement means they have now qualified for the Young Kennel Club Handling competition for Crufts 2021.
The judge said: “What a fabulous handler. Polite, calm, composed and confident. If she was nervous, I certainly couldn’t tell. Eryn and her dog had a wonderful rapport from entering the ring.
“She talked to her dog giving clear instruction, which the dog eagerly responded to. She represented the god perfectly, allowing the judge to go over the dog, not obstructing the judge’s view at any time.
“Eryn executed the pattern work accurately listening to the judge’s instructions and carrying them out precisely. She moved at one wither dog using the whole ring to demonstrate her handling skills which allowed her to get the best from her dog at all times.”
Eryn also handled a Rhodesian ridgeback called Cyno to second place, qualifying her for a position at the National Junior Handling Semi-Finals.
