On Monday 9th October, six pupils from Risedale attended the HRSSA Swimming Championships at Bedale Leisure Centre. They displayed great professionalism and composure as they waited patiently for their races. It was quite a daunting experience to swim in front of a full crowd from seven other secondary schools, but they showed great bravery. Here are the results:

• Year 8 Byron Dagnall: 50m Breastroke.
• Year 8 Sophie Hunter: 50m Freestyle - achieved 2nd place in heat.
• Year 11 Harvey Guy: 50m Freestyle - achieved 1st place in heat.
• Year 9 Thomas Leighton: 50m Backstroke - achieved 2nd place in heat.
• Year 7 Caleb Borisi: 50m Backstroke.
• Year 7 Mason Bassett: 50m Freestyle.
