On Tuesday 7th March, ten pupils from Years 8 and 9 at Risedale had the privilege of attending the annual regional Technology Tournament for North Yorkshire organised by the Rotary Club.
The event took place at the REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) base in Catterick Garrison.
Over 160 pupils from schools across the area, worked in teams to solve a challenging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) design brief. The task was to design and manufacture an electrically powered model vehicle to transport an item across a river using a range of materials and STEM knowledge.
#TeamRisedale produced some excellent products and narrowly missed out on gaining a prize.
Throughout the competition, all our pupils worked incredibly hard and were a credit to the school. They were also given the chance to look at and climb into some of the vehicles the REME were working on.
A brilliant day! Well done #TeamRisedale
