Pupils from Risedale School went head-to-head with over 150 pupils from 10 other schools at a STEM design challenge held on Tuesday 12th March. The event, organised by the Rotary Club of Northallerton and the 1st Close Support Battalion REME at Catterick Garrison, tasked pupils with building a machine that could launch a ping pong ball to impressive heights and then land it safely through a hoop in a designated zone.
Risedale sent four teams to the challenge, and all four displayed remarkable resilience and ingenuity. Even a team whose machine faltered during practice managed to pull off a successful final test, showcasing their ability to adapt and overcome obstacles.
