Millie is 15 years old and currently in Year 10 at Risedale. She is a keen sportswoman and represents the school at football and also captains the Richmond Town girls team.

Millie was inspired to sign up for the girls football academy when she saw a post on Jill's Twitter feed and after consulting with her parents did just that.

“I love following the England women professionals on social media and when I saw Jill Scott’s post I was desperate to go. I was a bit nervous at first as I wasn’t going with anyone from school or my football club but once I was there it was brilliant.”

Jill Scott’s JS8 Soccer Schools are run all over the country and are for girls aged between 6-18 years of age. The Schools are overseen by qualified UEFA coaches and all abilities are welcome.

During the 2 day training camp Millie took part in lots of training activities and also played in matches against other girls in her age group. Millie was one of only four girls who received a signed football as a prize for her football skills and training achievements at the camp.

“It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I learnt so much and Jill is a real hero of mine.” Millie said.

Jill Scott is the most capped England player ever at World Cup Finals (150 caps, 24 goals and counting). Jill has played in 3 European Championships, represented England at the London 2012 Olympics and was made an MBE in 2020 Honours List.

Millie aspires to be a Medic in the Army when she is older but hopes that she will be able to continue playing football no matter where her future takes her.

Head of PE at Risedale Selina Brierley said: “We are so proud of Millie’s sporting achievements here at Risedale. Football is her absolute passion. Her independence and enthusiasm to seek out new training opportunities inside and outside school is a true testament to her dedication to the sport.”
