Risedale School exploded with colour this June in celebration of Pride Month! From creative displays to fun fundraising activities, the whole Risedale Family came together for a truly inclusive celebration. 🏳️🌈
Throughout June, Risedale School took on a vibrant new look in celebration of Pride Month! The school canteen and flagpoles became a canvas of colour, adorned with Pride flags displayed proudly. Our ever-enthusiastic LGBTQIA+ Club wasn't to be outdone. They channelled their creativity into a fantastic new display for the link corridor. This eye-catching piece, a testament to their artistic talents, used mixed media, spray paints, and marker pens to create a truly special addition to the school.
The festivities continued on Friday 21st June, with a heartwarming charity movie afternoon featuring the film "Everybody's Talking About Jamie". Pupils enjoyed sweets and treats (available at the pre-movie sweet sale run by the fantastic LGBTQIA+ Club!) while learning about acceptance and individuality.
All the money raised during Pride Month will be going to Out North East, a wonderful charity that champions LGBTQIA+ communities in the North East.
On Facebook, Out North East, said, “Thank you for your support! You are amazing 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ 👏👏👏”
The month culminated in a rainbow-themed fun-filled Non-Uniform Day on Friday 28th June, where pupils donned their most colourful attire in a celebration of diversity. The LGBTQIA+ Club continued their fundraising efforts by hosting a bake sale alongside the Non-Uniform Day, adding even more to the total for Out North East. To top it all off, our inspiring Headteacher, Mr Colin Scott, addressed the entire school during a special Pride assembly.
We're incredibly proud of the entire Risedale Family for coming together and creating such a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
Together we raised an amazing £385.30 for Out North East! 🏳️🌈
