The entire team at Risedale School would like to express a sincere and heartfelt welcome to all the prospective pupils and their families who joined us this year for our Open Evening. In total more than 86 families and over 250 guests visited us - isn’t that fantastic!

Feedback from staff has been amazing and everyone commented on how lovely all the Year 5 & 6 pupils were and the enthusiasm they had looking around the school and taking part in all the activities on offer.

Our new Year 7 pupils have already made quite an impression on us and staff are singing their praises in the staff room and the corridors about the brilliant way they represented the school during the event.

Additionally, we have received some lovely comments from some Year 7 parents about how their children are settling into the Risedale Family. One parent said:

"I am writing to let you know that as a parent of a new year 7 - who has had the best 2 weeks of his life - how appreciated your hard work is.

He has shown me some of the presentations that were shared on his Google Classroom and you will be pleased to know that these lessons have been re-enacted via Chrome Cast on our TV - I have matched the eras to the names for History and learned all about the shape of a story from English... (twice - after the planning started). I have never seen anyone so excited to sign up to Duolingo... or ever had a child that kicks a football around the house (thanks PE). We have had a microscope in the house for years but this week we have looked at all sorts of household dust on a slide. Please know that you are making the world an amazing place!"
