A huge thank you to everyone who made our Open Evening such an amazing event!

The entire team at Risedale School would like to express a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all the prospective pupils and their families who joined us this year for our Open Evening. 

The event, which took place on Wednesday 25th September, attracted a record-breaking 99 families and 296 guests from over 10 local primary schools, demonstrating the growing interest in Risedale.

Staff members were delighted with the enthusiasm and engagement of the Year 5 and 6 pupils who attended. The positive atmosphere and the wide range of activities on offer created a memorable experience for all.

Mrs Lucy Greenwood, the new Headteacher at Risedale, gave a welcome talk to a packed assembly hall of guests and visitors. In her speech, she emphasised the school's commitment to making The Risedale Family inclusive and welcoming for all pupils from all walks of life, and to high-quality education. She also highlighted the school's goal of helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and resilience.

"We want all pupils to leave Risedale as confident, independent and resilient young people who are able to succeed no matter where their ambitions take them," Mrs Greenwood said. "We take pride in knowing all our pupils and we are a friendly community. Risedale offers an exciting and engaging education, delivered by dedicated, expert staff who are passionate about supporting everyone to achieve their aspirations."

“It was a wonderful evening," Mrs Greenwood said. "The feedback from parents has been overwhelmingly positive. Many parents who already have children at Risedale commented on the school's refreshed and vibrant feel. Some even said that the Open Evening had changed their minds about where to send their child, which is a testament to the hard work of our staff and pupils."

Risedale School extends a warm invitation to any prospective parents who were unable to attend the Open Evening to visit the school to learn more about the curriculum, facilities, and extracurricular activities on offer.
