Our team of Pupil Mental Health Ambassadors is thriving and making great progress.
Over the last few months, our Pupil Mental Health Ambassadors have gone from strength to strength. There are now 13 Ambassadors in the team. The group meets regularly and has some fantastic ideas to raise awareness of mental health in school.
They are in the process of developing an online Google platform for all Risedale pupils to access and have a voice in order to share ideas and promote positive mental health and wellbeing.
Mental Health Ambassadors, Issy and Janet, said,
“It's great to be able to offer extra support for people who need it.” “ We’re here to offer our support.”
The Ambassadors recently completed training delivered by the Charlie Waller Trust on peer listening and peer mentoring to be able to support their fellow pupils with low-level emotional worries. They hope to be able to promote this by designing posters for each classroom and pocket cards with useful websites and support numbers so pupils have broader access to mental health support outside of school. They also hope to contribute to an assembly in September to reach out to our new Year 7 pupils and to regularly provide updates in the school KIT Newsletters - so watch this space!
