From 16th to 24th September, our tutor groups puzzled over the ultimate challenge – a House Jigsaw Puzzle Competition! Each tutor group, alongside their respective Head of House, spent one tutor time each piecing together intricate puzzles in a race to the finish. We started with Year 11, working our way down through the year groups, ending with the Year 7s, who certainly didn’t fall to pieces under the pressure. The teamwork, camaraderie, and sheer determination have been nothing short of puzzlingly fantastic!
The puzzles themselves were hand-picked by the Heads of House, in the order of their own puzzle-solving prowess. Mrs Rodgers, Head of Turing ❤️, didn’t let any corners go unturned and pieced together an impressive victory for her house, securing the first pick of puzzles. Her puzzle-solving mastery inspired the Turing tutor groups, who stormed to victory with a day to spare! Turing truly proved that they’re the perfect fit when it comes to teamwork.
Meanwhile, the competition wasn’t quite as straightforward for Attenborough 💙, Pankhurst 💜, and Seacole 🧡, who scrambled to lock down the remaining spots. Attenborough managed to snap into place, securing second after a standout performance from 8Dean. Mr Hill kept everyone guessing by piecing together a clever strategy of keeping updates few and far between – after all, the last piece is always the trickiest! But his tactics paid off, as Seacole slid into third place, just ahead of Pankhurst House led by Mr Metcalfe.
Congratulations to Turing House ❤️ on being the first house competition winners of the year and well done to everyone who took part. This competition was a fantastic way to foster a sense of community and camaraderie among our pupils.
