Hello Yellow Day ๐ at Risedale School: A shining beacon of hope and support for young people.
Risedale School joined the global movement for mental health awareness on Thursday 10th October which also marked World Mental Health Day. The school participated in #HelloYellow Day, a national event organised by the charity YoungMinds. The event aimed to raise funds for YoungMinds and show young people that they are not alone. This heartwarming initiative encouraged people to wear something yellow to show support and unity with young people facing mental health challenges.
Pupils and staff alike donned something yellow in solidarity, demonstrating their commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment.
School Counsellor Lisa Smith expressed her delight, sharing, "Our wonderful Pupil Mental Health Ambassadors were eager to participate in this year's event, sending a message of support to their peers. Our amazing staff team joined in with enthusiasm."
The school's collective effort was truly inspiring, resulting in a generous donation of £142 to YoungMinds. This achievement is especially significant given the alarming rates of mental health issues among young people, with 1 in 6 children aged 5-16 experiencing such challenges.
At Risedale School, we are proud to have played a part in #HelloYellow Day. Our participation demonstrates our commitment to supporting the mental wellbeing of our pupils and fostering a positive and inclusive school environment. We believe that our collective efforts have made a meaningful impact on the lives of young people in our community and the Risedale Family.
On Facebook YoungMinds commented, “Thank you so much to Risedale School for joining us on #HelloYellow and helping us to make the day bigger and brighter than before! We are so grateful for your support. ๐”
