On Wednesday 20th December, the Year 7 boys and girls participated in the Hambleton & Richmondshire Area 5-a-side football competition.

The boys team was the first to play whilst the girls gave them huge support from the sidelines. Lukas Ellis (7Metcalfe) scored the goals for the boys but the whole team worked extremely hard and Kaiden Moore (7Metcalfe) pulled off some outstanding saves in goal.

In the afternoon, it was the girls' turn to shine. Renesmee Bascombe-Nakoma (7Laheney) proved unstoppable, finding the net with impressive accuracy whilst the boys cheered them on from the sidelines.

Beyond the competitive spirit, the day fostered a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship, with both teams receiving enthusiastic support from their peers. Overall, the event was a resounding success, providing a valuable opportunity for our Year 7 pupils to develop their skills, build friendships with pupils from other schools, and represent Risedale with pride.
