Risedale School's Year 10 pupils got a glimpse into their future careers on Tuesday 2nd July during a Taster Day at Darlington College. This exciting event, part of the school's Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme, gave pupils the chance to explore the diverse educational pathways offered by Darlington College.

Darlington College goes beyond traditional classroom learning, offering a range of vocational courses, innovative T-Levels, and apprenticeship programs. This Taster Day allowed our Year 10s to experience these options firsthand.

Mark your calendars! In September, Darlington College will be hosting Open Evenings specifically for Year 10 pupils and their parents/carers. These events provide a fantastic opportunity to delve deeper into the college experience and explore the various programmes and courses in more detail before pupils complete their applications by Christmas 2024.

Mrs Porritt, the Careers Leader at Risedale School, is a strong advocate for these experiences. "Over the past few months Year 10 pupils have had lots of opportunities to explore post-16 opportunities through their CEIAG programme," she said, "it will undoubtedly prepare them better as they make important decisions about their future careers and the different pathways and routes to becoming qualified."
