Risedale School athletes take part in Hambleton and Richmondshire Cross Country Championships.
On Wednesday 15th November, fifteen young athletes from Risedale School, in Years 7 to 9, showcased their unwavering determination and passion for running at the Hambleton and Richmondshire Cross Country Championships hosted at Northallerton Leisure Centre. Despite the challenging weather conditions, with rain and mud creating a memorable course, #TeamRisedale showcased their exceptional resilience and unshakeable spirit.
Each athlete gave their all throughout the race, pushing their limits and inspiring their teammates. The supportive cheers and encouragement from the sidelines further fueled their determination, creating a powerful sense of camaraderie and unity within the team.
Among the notable performances were Lukas Ellis, who came an impressive 7th place in the Year 7 runners, demonstrating exceptional speed and agility. Rhona Bain also showed great determination, finishing 18th in the same category. Lexie Maclean, competing in the Year 8 race, displayed exceptional grit and determination, securing a well-earned 22nd place.
"I was immensely proud of the efforts of all our athletes," remarked Mr Allen, Teacher of Science at Risedale School. "They represented Risedale exceptionally well, demonstrating remarkable sportsmanship and a never-give-up attitude.
